Before I explain, I should probably tell you a little bit about myself (toot my own horn!) so you know that this isn't just some whimsical desire to have some fun and pass some time with a cool California dude named Dan I have been teaching O&M for 35 years, and last year I received the highest honor of my profession when I was awarded the AER O&M Division's Lawrence Blaha Award at the AER conference in Florida -- there are only 20 people in the 60-year history of our profession who have received this award. ... So with that background, you'll understand the significance when I tell you that when I attended Daniel Kish's presentation in Pittsburgh, ... MY MIND WAS BLOWN! It was the best presentation I can remember ever attending in my career, because it made me realize there is an incredible skill that should be taught to our clients and students, and I have been woefully and neglectfully shortchanging them all these years! I really don't know how our profession could have progressed as it has without our being aware of the need to teach this skill to the degree that Daniel teaches it. So I became determined that somehow, some way, I'd learn what he has to teach, and I'd try to enable others in my profession to be able to add it to their curriculum so our consumers would no longer be short-changed.
